TLR B&W Conversion is an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 presets for making high contrast, Ansel Adam's like B&W images from a color image.
Quick B&W Presets
The Quick B&W presets simulate the use of color filters with B&W film. There are also Quick B&W actions for special purposes, like simulating panchromatic and orthochromatic film.
Quick B&W High Contrast presets make high contrast B&W conversions with three settings to choose from.
Quick B&W Evocative creates moody B&W images with three different settings available.
Quick B&W Landscape are designed for landscapes with three different settings available.
Quick B&W Portrait are designed for skintones with three different settings available.
Below are before and after examples:

You can adjust the settings to your liking, something impossible to do with a traditional filter and film photography.
Enjoy!

Installing ACR Presets
Hi,
I am trying to install the ACR B&W conversion presents. However, in ACR when I load a preset, I presume it should then be listed on the Presets tab. But that doesn't happen. In fact, it appears that to use a preset I would need to load it every time I want to use it. Can this be correct? I assume that what is supposed to happen is that all of them can be loaded and they would appear on the Presets tab??
Thanks for your help (and thanks for the ACR and LR presets).
Regards,
David
Re. Installing ACR Presets
To load an individual preset, you go to the Presets panel in ACR. There you select the flyout menu and choose "Load settings..." You would also need to then select the "Save settings..." to save them for ACR to load next time you restart ACR.
You can also save the entire set of ACR presets as a collection. To do that, you have to find the CameraRaw\Settings folder for your Photoshop installation and copy the presets there. The location varies by operating system.
With Windows Vista, you can find the folder here:
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings
Just substitute your user name for the computer you're using. The next time you open ACR, you should see the entire set of presets available.
