The C41-E6 actions in the TLR Cross-Processing actions use a Curves adjustment layer to reduce RAM consumption and file size. The E6-C41 actions, however, use a pixel-based layer because Unsharp Mask is used for the effect.
TLR Cross-Processing actions create Layer Groups/Sets on Photoshop CS and beyond. This makes it easy to manage the layers.
Each cross-processing effect is composed of two layers: a Cross-Processing layer and a Luminosity Control layer. This second layer allows you to restore as much of the original luminosity information as you desire.
Optionally, a creative tint can be added with its own Solid Fill adjustment layer. Again, using an adjustment layer gives you more flexibility and reduces both RAM and disk space requirements.
You can easily adjust the effect by altering the luminosity control layer, layer opacities, the the color of the tint layer, and/or the Blend If settings. That's lots of flexibility.
TLR Cross-Processing action set is a free download. Try it. If you like it, keep it and use it.
