TLR Digital Velvia ACR Presets
TLRDigitalVelviaACR.png

This is a color enhancement Adobe Camera Raw preset collection set from The Light's Right: a collection of Develop module presets that make it easy to obtain the rich, saturated colors that people associate with color slide film. TLR Digital Velvia is compatible with Adobe Camera Raw 5.x.

Adjust Overall Saturation

You can increase saturation gradually or go really wild!. There are five levels for increasing overall saturation. There are also occasions when it is helpful to reduce saturation. TLR Digital Velvia has five different levels of reduced saturation. The autumn color presets are named TLR Digital Velvia Fall because of name length limitations in ACR.

Autumn Colors Saturation

You can increase saturation for colors typical of autumn foilage: reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. The landscape color presets are named TLR Digital Velvia Land because of name length limitations in ACR.

Landscape Colors Saturation

You can increase saturation for colors typical common in landscape photographs: greens, blues, aquas, and cyans.

Below is two versions of a photo from Rome. The first has not had a saturation adjustment. The second has had both an overall saturation adjustment (+3) and a landscape saturaiton adjustment (+4).

It is possible to combine overall saturation adjustments and targeted color adjustments with the TLR Digital Velvia presets because the overall adjustments use the Saturation slider from the Basics panel and the targeted color adjustments use the sliders from the HSL panel.

question

I was able to "load" the presets one at a time and each took effect and seems to replace the previous effect....correct?

Is there any way to have the list of effects to be loaded so I can just pick from the list in Ps (CS4) but not have to open a file via windows explorer?

Is there a place to drag and drop in Ps program files folder somewhere to make them "stick" as a list to pick from within Ps?

I had some "Wow" presets and the installer loaded them into Ps for me....manual insert is OK.

Re. question

Hi, Doug.

You can load the presets individually from ACR. They should then be available in future sessions.

When you are on the Presets tab in ACR, if you click on the flyout menu, one of the options is Load Settings... That will load the preset to the correct folder.

ACR does store the presets in a folder. You can copy the entire batch of presets there. The trick is finding that folder.

On a Mac, it’s located in User:Library:Application Support: Adobe:CameraRaw:Settings.

On XP, it's in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings.

On Vista, it's in C:\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings.

You are correct about the effects not being cumulative -- except when combining one of the (All) presets and one of the Fall or Land presets. That's because the (All) presets use the Saturation slider on the Basics panel and the Fall and Land presets use the saturation sliders from the HSL panel.

Thanks

drag'n'dropped xmp files to folder and all works well

Well Done

This was my first attempt at using ACR presets and I've found a new work flow tool.

If you keep this up a couple clicks will make me look like a master photographer. Thanks.
