Noise Reduction and Magnification
I was chatting with George Bowen by e-mail this week. He's a consultant for Imagenomic, the manufacturer of Noiseware.
A New Online Community
The Light's Right has a new site! The original was a personal gallery site with pages grafted on for my actions, scripts, tips, and tutorials. The pages were static, vanilla HTML pages with a bit of Flash animation.
The new site is completely different. Aside from the visual difference, the new site is evolving from a Mitch-centric site to a community site. It is open to contributions from the digital photography community. This new site has features in place for articles, blogs, forums, news feeds, and syndication. More features will be introduced this summer.
Coming Attractions
New sites benefit from new features. Doing something different or better generates interest. Lots of sites have links. They're tyically just a simple list of hyertext links to click on. Not very elegant, not very helpful. What we have in mind for this site is a user-friendly, searchable, comprehensive set of links to digital photography resources. We'll start simple and build from there. We'll start with a list of digital photography forums, add Photoshop tools, tutorials, etc. Forget the endless list of links that visitors scroll through.
Benefactor Program
The Light’s Right continues to grow. Tens of thousands of visitors download content each week. Expanding the content and features to make this a community site means more demands on the Web server in the future. Contributions have made it possible to deliver basic content without advertising or subscriptions. We’re extremely grateful for the help we’ve received.
