Advanced Digital Black & White Photography
Beardsworth1.jpg

I own more than one shelf of books related to digital photography. Advanced Digital Black & White Photography by John Beardsworth is oneof the few books that I am confident will improve the digital B&W photography of anyone who reads it, whether complete novice or seasoned photo retoucher.

John Beardsworth is an extremely competent technical writer. This is a Lark Photography Book, which means it is not one of those thick and heavy books that would wear out the discs in your back lugging it from the shelf to a chair. This is a very focused book, loaded with excellent exemplars of digital B&W photography.

Where the book is a bit light in its coverage is printing. That's an area where Mastering Digital Black and White by Amadou Diallo, for example, has more depth.

If you have a little experience with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom and now your ready to try digital B&W or you're more experienced and you're looking for ways to enhance your B&W photos, you'll find lots of techniques to explore in Advanced Digital Black & White Photography.
