Field Review of Sony A900
SonyA900.jpg

Michael Reichmann's site, The Luminous Landscape, produces a limited nhumber of camera reviews. Rather than the systematic reviews that you'll find on a site like DPReview, the reviews on The Luminous Landscape tend to focus on practical, photographer hands-on, field reviews. Nick Rains has written such a review of the Sony A900, the newest DSLR from Sony and, currently, the world's highest resolution 35mm format DSLR (24.6 MP).

Pros and cons
Pros:
Easy to operate mirror up – it's just another drive mode along with self timer
Pros:
Sensor stabilization
Cons:
Sony RAW processing software lacks much of the sophistication of Adobe Camera RAW and others
Cons:
Autofocus is a mixed bag. It depends very much on which lens is being used.
