Nifty new features are coming soon.
New sites benefit from new features. Doing something different or better generates interest. Lots of sites have links. They're tyically just a simple list of hyertext links to click on. Not very elegant, not very helpful. What we have in mind for this site is a user-friendly, searchable, comprehensive set of links to digital photography resources. We'll start simple and build from there. We'll start with a list of digital photography forums, add Photoshop tools, tutorials, etc. Forget the endless list of links that visitors scroll through. Instead, how about thumbnails of the home page, useful descriptions and summaries of features, five star ratings, Digg It!, and user comments? Another exciting feature is a greatly expanded set of software reviews for Photoshop plug-ins and standalone tools. There will be both .PDF versions for everyone and video versions as premium content. What's the difference between the .PDF and video version. Nothing, really, in terms of substantive content. The video versions will include walk-throughs, where you can see the tools in action on real photographs. These won't be fluff reviews with just a paragraph or two of near useless text. These will be in-depth comparisons, with the kind of information you need to select the tool that's right for your workflow. One category of reviews will be suite reviews. There are vendors who offer tools for multiple points in the digital photography workflow. The first planned review is Nik Multimedia. They market sophisticated tools for sharpening, noise reduction, and adjustments to color and tone. Vincent Versace uses several in his book, "Welcome to Oz: A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography." Suite reviews will focus on using the products together as part of a comprehensive workflow. Other vendor suite reviews in the works include Topaz (Vivacity and Adjust) and Imagenomics (Noiseware, Portraiture, and Real Grain). There will, of course, be comparative reviews that focus on tools for a particular task. Here's the reviews already in progress: Panorama stitching
