Zoom In On The Color Range Preview
ZoomTheColorRangePreview1.png

When you want to use Photoshop's Color Range tool to make a selection in a small area, the tiny thumbnail preview isn't usually much of a help. Photoshop reduces the entire photo down to a thumbnail.

In this case, what if we wanted a selection of just the red and orange watercolor paint dots?

Corey Barker posted a tip on Photoshop Planet that's really helpful. If you make a selection first around the area where you'll be working with the Color Range tool, the thumbnail will zoom right in on the selection.

And here's the result! A preview that's a lot more useful for ensuring that we get a good selection with the Color Range tool.

Here's the link to Corey's tip:

Credit Corey with the tip. I just added some photos to illustrate his idea.
