Is there interest in some shorter videos? Sometimes just a minute or two or three.

Just as an example, we have a forum member who's wanting to earn how to run actions. Well, that can be handled in a couple of minutes.

I was also thinking of some short video intros to the various action sets.

Cheers,

Sounds like it could be very useful.
Short intros to some of the new and/or improved goodies in CS4 would be nice.

Hi Mitch...

Yours truly would very much appreciate short videos on PS activities and using basic tools such as, actions. I would suggest following the marketing adage KISS...Keep It Simple Sincere or as we were often told years ago by sales manager Keep It Simple STUPID.

I have been looking at various PS tutorials over last 4 months. I do use the tutorials you have created and appreciate it very. Thanks. Some tutorials I view are very good but some assume that the viewer is knowledgeable about navigating PS, for example, it would say go to the actions/layers/whatever palette and do this and then that. What and were is an action???Layer? Or assume everyone is using CS4 and will work on CS2.

I like abstract art and finding solutions but sometimes painting by the numbers works quickly and effectively. Just some feedback and I think it may draw more digital/PS people to the site.

Best Regards and again thanks for forum

Thank you for taking the time to post some thoughtful comments, Big Fish! Welcome to the forums.

You are right that most tutorials assume a certain level of knowledge. It's a fine balance. If you assume users lack basic knowledge, you can bore (or irritate) the more experienced viewers. If you assume knowledge viewers do not have, you can confuse them.

I try to remain conscious of my audience, but I can always do better. Wink

Mitch,

Very much like the idea of short videos.  Special techniques as well as photoshop info.  What I find most interesting is processing techniques for improved or artistic results, I am not a purist for landscape photography. For example the other day I found someone talking of a black and white layer in softlight blend mode to enhance the dynamic impact of the colour photo.  I know about both blend modes and black and white conversion layers but never the two combined to give the affect.  I am getting to know photoshop and the tutorials in photoshop are fair but what I don't always know is how to used them.

Thanks for your work.
Ron
