I have not seen a tutorial yet on how to post a picture in your message, so I decided to write a brief tutorial on adding a picture to your message.

When starting or replying to a message, you will see the little icons and emoticons right above the message box.  Click on the "insert image" icon  (the icon right below the italic I).  You will then see 2 [img] boxes inserted in the message area, and a cursor will be flashing between the two.  Simply copy the URL of your photo and PASTE it in between the two [img] areas.  Then, you have to add .jpg (dot jpg) to the end of the URL link for the photo to show up.

Here is an example of how the link should look before hitting the PREVIEW button.

I would encourage the use of the PREVIEW button before hitting post.  That way you can see for yourself how the photo will look when posted.

Hope that helps.

Conrad,
Thanks for the clear tutorial.
I've made it a sticky so people can find it fast.
Have a good week.

so how do you get the picture to be a small image in the actual post, but then when you click on it, it pops up full size? Like I've seen several times in these posts.

Good question, Frank.

The screenshots below show you the steps for adding photos that are stored on the TLR server and appear as tiny thumbnails at he bottom of the message. Like it works at RetouchPro.

There's an option right under the text box for adding attachments. You click on that and it will open up the items or attaching a photo.

Conrad's technique displays the image inline, like it works at DPReview. And, like with DPreview, this option is an external link. The photo is stored whereever on the Web. If the resource moves or is deleted, the link will no longer work. There is no copy stored on the TLR server.

(So, Conrad, don't go moving that nice frame! Smiley )

Cheers,

Mitch
