Shooting Raw Doesn't Necessarily Mean You Should Be Lazy

Bob Johnson has posted a provocative blog entry about shooting RAW. The theme resonates well with me, although I'm sure it will be controversial. Lot's of people assume that shooting RAW covers a multitude of sins. So you can be lazy and sloppy with your exposure and your white balance and expect to cover it up later. As Bob notes, there's still good reason to rely on solid photographic technique.

Photoshop users sometimes assume that the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) sliders for Exposure and Brightness do pretty much the same thing. After all, they both lighten or darken the photograph.
