The latest issue of PhotographyBB is available. It's a free .PDF download for the digital photography commuity. This new edition features a tutorial on how to create dramatic landscape photos. Readers can also learn about the differences between small flash units and studio strobe, along with the practical applications of each option. This issue also examines the relationship between sensor sizes vs megapixels (in digital cameras) and how both of these factors affect overall image quality.
Abduzeedo, a graphic artist oriented site, has published a reader tutorial. Personally, I find the title a bit misleading. This tutorial is not really about HDR at all. It's about an over-the-top look that some people like and associate with HDR.
I use HDR software, but I find the gritty, over-saturated look that passes as HDR these days to be trite now. I tend to react to these images now with a "Yet again!?" feeling.
Still, the author does demonstrate how to create a faux-HDR effect using a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop.
The Photosho Guys are back. Now that Stephanie Cross is running with the Photoshop Guys, how does that work out? ;)
Dave answers another twitter question about flattening layers. Matt has a Lightroom tutorial on comparing a before and after of your image adjustments. Scott's tutorial involves tips for using filters. Plus, Stephanie Cross has a new segment for beginners that focuses on the move tool this week.
